Acupuncture has been shown to be an effective treatment for acute and chronic pain. For example, back pain, headaches, and menstrual pain are common issues we see. Stress related conditions such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, and infertility are also treated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Acupuncture Works<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Traditionally, acupuncture is thought to remove blockages along the 12 meridians\/energy channels in the body. Recently, acupuncture has been shown to release endorphins, calm the nervous system (sympathetic vs. parasympathetic systems), and decrease inflammation in the body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candice is a registered nurse who has been a practicing acupuncturist since 2012. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Rutgers University, a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture, and an Associates Degree in Nursing from Gateway Community College. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
